I love Valentine’s Day. Especially since I’ve had kids. When they were little I loved helping them with their class Valentine’s Day cards and making treats for their class parties! Yes, I was that mom… Now that they are teenagers, I still get in to the holiday. Not much has toned down on my end. In the morning, they wake up to Valentine’s Cards from me and my husband and some yummy treats. Followed by a family dinner, where I love on them some more with a favorite meal and their favorite desserts! So today I’ll share my Family Valentine Tablescape with you. So, this is a pretty post…get cozy and just enjoy the photos!
If you have been following me for a while you may be confused by this room! Yes, it used to be the sitting room. You know how some people like to move furniture around a lot ( that’s me!), I take it a step further and I like to swap rooms. My dining room and sitting rooms get swapped each winter and then bedrooms too.
The other day I came home to my 15-year-old daughter moving her furniture in to the hallway…She looked at me and said ” I feel like moving my bedroom in the guest room like we talked about”. My husband came home and just rolled his eyes. To which I had to apologize, “Sorry honey, this is all my fault, she inherited that from me!”.
I make my husband & all my children their own little cake 😉
Last year my favorite design trend that rolled over to this year is mixing metals. I have a little collection of pewter and a little collection of brass. It is fun to add them to the table together!
At each place setting I have a place card on the other side of the name I print out a coupon for a date to their favorite place. They love it, even as teenagers!
This font is called “mocking”. Isn’t it pretty and fun?
After Valentine’s Day is over go check out Marshall’s, TJMaxx, Homegoods & Target for decor that is on sale. You could find plates for as low as $2! I do this after each holiday and season.

I hope you have a fun Valentine’s Day this year and that you feel loved!
