A lot of people ask me if my table is set all the time. My local friends could vouch for me, that yes, my table is always set. I don’t always have time to add plates, but something I always have on my table is a centerpiece and sometimes a runner. But when I do have time, nothing makes me happier than setting a welcoming table.
I am big on family dinners. Unfortunately with busy teenagers we don’t get to sit down every evening, but we make it a point to do so many times each week. There are some really great reasons to sit down at an actual table with your family and friends. Amazing things happen around the table. I wrote about that passion of mine here.
I painted an old shutter and found a vintage drawer box at a barn sale. Just add some greenery and a couple of pumpkins & there you have an easy centerpiece.
The each placemat is written in gold lettering with a beautiful message. There are four different verses from the Bible on each mat that remind us of God’s love for us.
I will be using them for my Christmas Table as well!
In my family at Thanksgiving we are never for a loss for words that is for sure! There is a lot of laughs and story telling, but I am so looking forward to this next decoration. It is fabric on a spool with frayed edges for a vintage feel, and there are 12 questions So, You can cut each one to use as napkin rings. When your guests unwrap them everyone can each take a turn reading their questions. I’m sure this will be a new family tradition.
Or you could keep them together and wrap them around the table!
For Christmas the only thing I need to do is remove the little pumpkins, and put those pinecones in my vintage drawer box!
