I love this quote! & we finally have spring weather in NH, actually it is going to be summer weather today! And last week we had snow on the ground! That is living in New England for you.
There is a skip in my step when the weather is warm and the sun is out!
I want to share 3 tips I used this year to decorate my home for spring.
1. De-clutter & clean!
I know that seems basic, but it is where you need to start.
Spring to me means clean and fresh a new start. And I don’t know about you, but after being house bound for many months some rooms in my home can get a bit cluttered.
I am not a natural organizer. My husband is. He loves to organize. I on the other hand am a “stuffer” I have a tendency to create “piles” of paper and odd items around my house will get picked up and dropped in my laundry room…It’s not good.
So once a year I do a big organizing job around the house and it always happens at springtime…
I have to be honest I dread it, organizing is not my thing.
I’ve bought books, journals, I follow organizing accounts, but nothing seems to stick. ( If you have any ideas I’d love to hear)…
I do get the job done, but it is a chore.
After organizing gets done, I don’t mind cleaning…so after that is done it’s time to decorate for spring.
2. Add Faux Flowers!
yes, you read that right! Target, Peir 1 & Homegoods have some gorgeous faux flowers this season! No more fake grandma dusty flowers!
Flowers always freshen and brighten up a room, which is exactly what you want to do for spring decorating.
A little touch of spring to my tierd tray too. The faux greenery is all from Target
3. Change out your throw pillows!
These two are from Target.
One of the new color trends for 2017 is blush pink. It is so pretty.
These two pillows are also from Target. I find most of my throw pillows at Target and Marshalls because they have great sales!
And of course if you have been following me for a while you know I have a love for navy and white!
I hope you can use these tips! If you want to save them for later I made you a long pin below!
Happy Spring and don’t forget to pop over to the other blogs too!
