Last week I shared my farmhouse tablescape. I went for a more rustic look, which I love, but today I wanted to glam it up a bit! So the first thing I did was add a white table-cloth. White table cloths say “fancy”, don’t you think?
When I set my table I want everyone that comes to the table to feel welcome & cared for. I am often talking about how important it is to have family dinners. I even blogged about it. It was my first blog post actually. My friend Bre from Rooms for Rent interviewed me for an online class she was doing and she interviewed me about how I view hospitality. So after the taping I came home and wrote what I said in the interview and it became my first blog post! If you have read it you know how sitting around the table is so special to me.
So of course that makes sense that setting a table is one of my joys 😉
after the white table-cloth I added my silver chargers. Just like layering a couch with pillows and a throw blanket adds warmth, so does layering a table with chargers.
I love simple baby’s breath around the table. It is pretty and it lasts forever. You can also dry it.
If you saw this year’s Thanksgiving post you saw these fun napkin ties from Ever Thine Home, you know I love them! They were a hit at the table. They come with 12 different questions. There was a lot of laughing and crying while we talked about them! They are great because I can use them for Christmas!
I also kept the place mats from Thanksgiving for my Christmas table. I think the gold foil writing is so elegant, don’t you?
I just had to add my Christmas dishes too! I got these soon after I was married on clearance…of course!
Do you remember how I refinished my dining room table? Last year I felt that I always had to have a table cloth on my table because the black did not go with any of my decor. So, I wanted to see if my table could still be glamorous without the tablecloth. What do you think?
I think I may call this “farmhouse glam”.
