My Dining Room Spring Home Refresh Makeover is finally here!
I am beyond honored and so excited to be sharing this post with you for two reasons the “excited reason” is to reveal my new fresh Dining room because I finally took the plunge and painted it white! I planned it last Thanksgiving and just now go the courage.
The “honored reason” is that I was asked to be a part of the SPRING REFRESH blog hop! You are in for some beautiful inspiration from the bloggers linked at the end of this post.
One of my most favorite things about reading blogs is “before and after” stories. So, today I wanted to give you a before shot of my dining room. Please ignore the water bottles on the floor and the shirt hanging on the chair. I often use my chairs as drying racks!
Ok, back to the dining room…
This color is Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams and I LOVE it. I loved it so much that it used to be on all of the walls of my first floor except the bathroom! It is the color I get most asked about on Instagram. I still have it in my sitting room and still am in love with it. This photo was a post I did on the importance of eating around the table you can read that here.
Here is our dining room a year ago.
table: Ikea Chairs: Pottery Barn Lamp: Pottery Barn Tiered tray: Painted Fox
I moved some furniture around! The room is bigger than it looks and there is room for a little sitting nook.
Talk about a difference! I love it so much. When I walk into the room it is screaming bright, sunshine & happy! I can’t believe I waited so long to paint it. I am so looking forward to all of the accent colors I can add to the room because let’s face it white goes with everything!
I found this old shutter in my barn and just painted over the dark green color and it stayed chippy and old. For my Dining Room Spring Home Refresh I wanted to bring as much bright white as I could with just subtle pops of soft blush pinks. I was racking my brain to find a table cloth or runner idea and then I spotted this dark green shutter. After I painted the room I had extra paint so I just painted this shutter imperfectly so it looked aged white.
Anything chippy white makes my heart flutter..
This is my favorite picture of my mantel. It is from Valentines Day. You can check out that post here.
It is simple, white and I think it is so pretty. I love the look of a mantel that is full of “stuff” and color, but I also love a mantel that just has flowers in simple mason jars.
Here is my little sitting area I was telling you about.
If you follow me on Instagram you know of my love for this tiered tray from Painted Fox. I think it may be my favorite thing to decorate in my home! I love changing it for the season. I think it deserves it’s head shot, don’t you think?
On the other side of the dining room is the bay window that lets a lot of light in. This room is in the middle of my home so this is it’s only window.
This book shelf is from Ikea and we have 3 total in my house. I love them. I love to add some modern pieces like this in my vintage home. This piece is great, because if you life in an old house you know there is a struggle to come up with places to store items.
Let’s talk about this vintage crate for a second. It is so charming. I love to add flowers to it. It has such a vintage rustic feel. Don’t you think?
So I guess this year my #1 tip for doing a Spring makeover would be to paint a wall! What the heck, it’s only paint right? Paint is never permanent. ( My husband wishes is was!) Pick a fresh spring color like I did with the pink flowers and throw pillows and add touches of it to your room!
Here is a collage of all the 15 amazing bloggers in the blog hop. Their links are below in order of the pics! Get ready for some beautiful inspiration!
