One of the easiest ways to transform a space, or to add different colors or textures, is to Decorate With Throw Pillows.
Let’s start with an empty couch…
When I add pillows I start at each corner and have them match, either is design, or shape.
They don’t have to be the same exact pillow, but they should be the same size so that it is pleasing to the eye and not distracting.
If you don’t have one the same size, put another pillow in front of it to add dimension.
I love neutral decor, but I wanted some highlighted color so I went for yellow at first. Isn’t it warm and cozy?
I love soft yellow throw pillows as accents.
The Antlers are from Target. The beautiful tray is from my sister-in-law. I need to ask her where she got it!
The chair, couch and curtains are from IKEA. The picture is from House of Belonging. The side was found when my husband I went dumpster diving in NYC behind J Crew (a blog post in itself!).
check out when I added some blue throw pillows how the room transformed…
I am working on an area rug post. Not only do pillows change the look of a room, but a rug with different textures and or color does as well.
In my sitting room, I love the neutral off whites and white together.
Adding a pop of navy and a throw warms up the space.
I have a whole post dedicated to making a home warm & cozy.
When I was deciding what throw pillows I should highlight. I just shopped around my own home. I gathered them from other rooms.
I never get rid of throw pillows, I just buy new covers.
Oh, one more thing, can you do me a favor? Can you let me know if I should use the navy pillows or the yellow pillows? I’ll show you the pics one more time!
