Yes, I’m talking color today! Don’t get me wrong, I am still a white couch girl, but for some reason I am craving more pops of color in the house lately.
This is exactly why my 2 favorite design tips will always be timeless to me.
- Paint neutral colors on your walls
- Buy neutral colored furniture
That way if you are like me, or you don’t want to buy new furniture every time a new trend is shared, your base is a solid neutral and with pops of color in your pillows or decorations, you are able to change things up quickly & for a lot less money.
ok, back to my colorful tabelscape! I had so much fun with this table. I literally sing and hum when I am creating a new tablecape. Shopping around my own home and pulling decor around from other places in my home to create something new is my favorite thing to do.
One of my favorite things to decorate with are vintage books. I have quite a collection and need to share them with you. My grandfather and my father used to get Reader’s Digest books when I was a kid. The spine is colorful and the covers are beautiful patterns. This may sound strange, but they were my inspiration for this table!
From the other side of the table they look just as cool:
My sister-in-law gave me these amazing vintage, green containers, they are enormous and awesome. I would love to know their story.
If you follow my blog you know that my third favorite design tip is to buy items for your home at the end of the season. See the straw placemats? I bought them at Marshalls at the end of the summer for $5.99 for four!
These beautiful bowls I purchased from Anthropology on my last shopping trip to Newbury Street in Boston, at the sale section of course! Anthropology always has a great sale section. I got 6 of these bowls for $35! originally $9.99 a piece.
Major Score for this Tablescape:
If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my story about my score at Rite Aid Pharmacy. It is like a CVS. They have a little decor section that I sometimes find little treasures in. These fun little lanterns were on sale!
Aren’t they cute?
One of my favorite color combinations besides white and navy is blue and green.
A colorful summer table must have a little sea-glass thrown in too!
Don’t forget your starfish for summer too.
The faux hydrangea is from Pier One.
I hope you have had fun looking at my table! If you want to save it for when you are ready to decorate for summer,I made you a pin below! Actually, come follow me on Pinterest! I love to hang out there.
