This month I am adding flowers to my outdoor spaces. Today I am sharing my back walkway. Tomorrow I will show you my front porch!
Also, I will be sharing some photos of my family today! But before I do that I wanted to let you know that this post is part of a summer blog hop. At the end of this post there are links to some of my favorite bloggers and you will get to see some of their outdoor spaces too!
Let me show you what my outdoor space looked like before:
One of the first projects we did when we bought our home 3.5 years ago was this walkway. It is pretty on it’s own, but it sure could use some summer pops of color!
My husband and I look forward to this time of year when we plan our garden. My husband always says when he retires he would love to work in a nursery or be a landscape artist. He loves planting. I decorate and decide what we put where inside of our home and he decorates and decides what we put outside in our garden.
Whenever he has time off he is always working outside. He has a reputation in our neighborhood for working on projects outside. One day a neighbor stopped by after a bike ride and told us that my husband is putting all the other guys to shame because apparently their wives say things like, “I wish you would work in our yard like Lars does”.
If you follow me on Instagram, my husband is a big part of my stories. He will finish a long day at his regular job then come home and make my dreams come true with working on projects for me. He loves it. Some guys come home and put their feet up with a beer and watch game, but Lars relaxes by working on projects…I know…I hit the jackpot ladies!
Here he is with my middle son, Reid on his last day of high school. (Some planting had started!)
So, when I am blogging I like to think of my readers sitting down with me for a cup of coffee, we are just talking and I am sharing pictures with you. So If you were over and I showed you this photo of my walkway it would lead to me sharing Reid’s prom and how cute he was when he was little and then of course I’d add stories of how fast they grow and where did the time go…so humor me for a few pics 😉
Here are the same two guys. It seems like yesterday…
If I share one of my kids I have to show you all of them! Erik is the oldest he is going to be a sophomore in college. Reid will be starting his freshman year this year, and our baby, Annika is 16 TODAY!! She will be a junior in High School.
😉 Thank you of letting this proud momma gush, now back to my outdoor spaces…
Every year, my daughter fills her own container garden. Last year she had a beautiful box of strawberries. This year she planted herbs and carrots.
Let’s see the walkway before one more time:
Here is the walkway after:
Here are some of my favorite flowers in my garden:
This post was so much fun to share with you! I really hope you are having a great summer.
